My name is York and I am looking for my forever family. I am a happy, calm young man with a beautifully soft coat. My forever family should know I do give lots of kisses and my whole body wiggles when I greet people. I adore attention. I've learned "sit" and 'come'. I am learning 'excuse me', 'leave it', and 'drop it'. I like to play tug of war with the leash. I am quiet in the car but I do try to sit with whoever is in the car. So, my foster mom makes me wear a seatbelt harness to keep me safe. I'd probably do well with kids, because my very first foster mom at Unbreakabull Rescue (she has kids but I don't know how old they are) told her I am a really good puppy. She also said I am very gentle for a puppy, and it's actually true. But when I am super excited, I can't contain my playful spirit and that includes my mouth. So you should always keep an eye on me until I mature more and understand I shouldn't put my teeth on people. My foster mom gave me a bath and I wasn't too happy about it. The towel rub down felt really good after a warm bath. That was nice. My soft coat was so bright and pretty afterwards, until I played in the backyard and got dirty again. I get dirt in my ears from playing chase and wrestle mania in the yard. So, my foster mom wipes my ears out at snuggle time and I let her do that for a few moments.

I am quite the bed hog, so it is recommended that, whoever I sleep with at night, should have a big bed and love extra heat and snuggles. If I have to go potty in the middle of the night, I will use potty pads unless you get up with me to let me out, then I will wait for you to get up and take me outside. My foster mom gets up with me because it's good practice, and more importantly, pooping on puppy pads requires good aim. Luckily for my foster mom, I have been sleeping through the entire night lately. When we wake up in the morning, I lay patiently in bed until my foster mom is up and ready to let us outside to potty before breakfast. She works from home, so when she has to concentrate, I take a nap in the crate until we get a break to play.

I'm a very confident guy, and I am not afraid to run and tumble with the big dogs. The dogs here are very good at teaching me dog manners and young enough to enjoy my puppy energy. I get pretty vocal and I bark when I am playing with my two foster brothers and sister. My foster dad says my name should be "Scrappy" because I don't back down and I am always getting into something. My foster mom has noticed how athletic and smart I am and she thinks I'd be good at dog agility or even a great running partner. Sometimes if we get too excited, then I get a timeout in the crate to settle down and chew on a toy or take a little nap. I have plenty of toys to play with but I ran around with my foster mom's flip flop and got my foster brother in trouble because my foster grandpa thought it was him that took it and put it on the bed. When I do get into something I shouldn't, my foster parents can easily redirect me. I sit handsomely and watch my foster dad cook, but I am not allowed in the kitchen when he opens the oven. I love to chew on things like sticks and beef cheeks, but I don't shred my stuffed animal toys like my foster brother does. Once I picked up a rock outside and I was playing with it in my mouth until my foster mom took it from me and told me no. She hasn't caught me picking up rocks since then. But it's dangerous, so I thought you should know. Healthy treats like frozen blueberries, red bell pepper, peanut butter, green beans, and carrots are helping me grow bigger and stronger. I sound like a health nut, but I was too skinny and they want me to look more handsome than I already do (like perfection isn't enough). Really though, they want me to live a long happy healthy life with an active, loving family.
