Lover boy who is curious and able to explore on his own in the house. He likes to check in to make sure you are near. He loves walks and being outside. He loves the sun and the sounds and is very content. Wilbur has good recall and knows wait, sit, kennel up, potty outside, “get your baby” and no or “ahhh ahhh”

He loves stuffies, kong treats, fetch, sunbathing, car rides. He can get a little mouthy when playing fetch / keep away, but can be redirected and say “no” “not bite” “be nice”. Having him sit before you throw helps.

He is potty-trained and crate-trained, He is non-reactive on his walks and does not appear to have prey drive. He has had dogs approach him and is a gentleman. I was told his former foster had a male and a female dog and that Wilbur did fine. He is also fine with my female. Wilbur and his current foster male do not get along. I feel this may attribute to Wilbur being younger and my boy being jealous. I think there is a good chance Wilbur will be fine with proper into and a more secure, confident male.

Wilbur has seen a cat outside and was curious but did not show prey drive. Wilbur has been around my grandchildren ages 2 – 5 and did well. I personally do not allow little kids around any dogs without adult supervision, and for sure not big bouncy dogs like Wilbur. I would advise older kids.

Wilbur is greatly loved and has a good life – surrendering to provide him the opportunity to have “the best life” if we can find him a home where he can run free rather than rotate. His daily routine is:
Morning – wake up, out for potty, breakfast and playtime around 7:00 a.m.
Crated around 8:15 and then potty break midday.
Dinner and out for evening (lots of fetch) around 5:30 with a 7 p.m. Kong snack then kenneled for the night
Weather allowing, we always have walks daily He also loves being on our property for runs in the woods!
