Hi there! My name is Theo, and I’m ready to continue my happy rescued life with a forever family. UnbreakaBull rescued me from Texas where I was scheduled to be euthanized because there were too many other dogs looking for families too. My vet said I am around 3 years old, but I come across as a much older gentleman. Don’t expect a bunch of youthful energy from me—I’m here to relax and enjoy the good life! In fact, I would probably do best with a family that doesn’t expect me to be very active. My foster mom thinks I lived my whole life outdoors before coming into rescue, and I desperately needed TLC, but I’ve learned that people mean pets and affection and now I love to be by your side. Do you know about toys? And bones? I LOVE THEM. I’m a tough chewer so I would love some Kong toys that are ready for the challenge. Since being a member of the family is new to me, here’s how I’m doing. My housetraining is coming along great, and I’m good about not having accidents outside of my crate if I’m kept to a regular schedule. Speaking of my crate--I don’t like it much as this is probably the first time I’ve ever been in one. I’ll go in for a treat and sleep if you’re in the room with me, but if I can’t see you or my fur siblings while I’m in there I get upset. With that in mind, I would probably do best in a home rather than apartment and with other dogs or a person to keep me company most of the time. If you choose to kennel me, I will require a special kennel, called a “proselect” due to some kennel anxiety. I am working on training basics like coming when you say my name and “sit”. It helps that I’m very treat motivated and naturally easy-going.

I LOVE my fur siblings, and I did well on my introductions to new dogs. I had a week long staycation at a nice lady’s house while my foster mom was on something called a “vacation”. While I was there, I made 4 new doggy friends and got to meet a few cool cats. I didn’t care too much about the cats and one of them actually gave me a head boop and that was kind of cool. I don’t seem to be leash or barrier reactive, but I want to chase small animals like squirrels and rabbits. My foster mom says I do the sweetest “Roo-roo” when I’m happy, have the cutest snore, and am QUICK with kisses. My foster mom thinks I would do great with respectful kids as I’m gentle and loving, though I’m still learning to take treats gently when I’m excited. Though I’m getting stronger and healthier every day, you will notice in person that my back legs are bowed. My vet said this is just a result of bad breeding and they don’t cause me pain, but they do affect my daily life. I seem to get tired quickly on walks which is why I would probably be just as happy without. I’ll also need to be on an affordable joint supplement for the rest of my life as I seem to do better with them. Any small children should be taught that I’m weak on my back end, and I will never be a dog that that kids can roughhouse with. If you’re looking for a sweet guy to sleep at your side and always greet you with a gentle “roo-roo”, I’m here for the job! Fill out an application and let’s meet!

Love, Theo (UPDATED 08/19/21)
