Meet the FABULOUS Rocky!! Rocky is about 5 years old and he was surrendered to Southview Animal Hospital one of our vetting partners. He was brought in by his previous owner for euthanasia. We were told that he is food aggressive and had gotten into fights with another male dog in the house. The owners had given up but the staff at the hospital did not see any reason that Rocky should be PTS as he was a perfectly sweet and healthy dog. UnbreakaBULL was willing to take him in but didn’t have an open foster for him to go to immediately. Rocky stayed at Southview for about a week while we worked on things for him. While in the hospital, he didn’t show any signs of aggression. He was friendly, loving and eager to please! A very gracious worker decided that she would bring him home and see how he did with her 2 female dogs and 3 cats.

Rocky had time to decompress before he was introduced to the other dogs and In the 2 weeks that she had Rocky, she did not see any aggression towards any of her animals or with food. Yes he loves his food but he is respectful. No potty accidents in the house! He does good on walks, just a little pulling sometimes but no reaction to other dogs.

At night, Rocky sleeps on the dog bed in the bedroom and he doesn’t get up until morning. He is a good listener, but sometimes has selective hearing.

Rocky has just a couple of quirks. One, he dose not like his feet being touched, but he wants to put them on you. So this is something to be aware of for nail trims. Two, we are working on kenneling and his ability to relax and settle sooner. He has gotten better it takes him about 20 min to calm down now vs. about 45 before. When he is kenneled his kennel is covered and that seems to help. In the car, he rides in the kennel and does great!

Rocky is unable to be off leash in an un-fenced yard as he will want to go explore what's out in the world!! We do recommend him being supervised always in the yard.

Rocky is the bestest boy!!! We sure are glad we were able to step in and save him from euthanasia!! Any family would be lucky to have Rocky!! Please apply today to meet this handsome boy!!
