Some things to keep in mind when adopting Otis:

  • He will need a fenced in yard, since he doesn’t stay near the house if let out unsupervised.

  • He does not do well in a kennel if completely alone. If another dog is kenneled near him, he does much better.

  • He should have a dog friend to keep him company. As with a lot of stray cases, they have separation issues because of previous abandonment.

  • If you plan to kennel, a heavy duty one is required. He is too strong for a wire kennel. We can give recommendations if you are interested in adopting.

  • He is really an amazing dog with a great personality, just has some things that need to be known ahead of time. With consistency and effort, he will be an amazing companion.

Taylor AKA Otis here to introduce my fine self! I am a very dignified gentleman that has the goofiest personality. I love life, and I am just as happy-go-lucky as they get! Everything is good in my world!!

I love to meet new people, I love kids, I love other dogs, I just love everything!! I made my way to rescue after I was picked up as a stray. The fine folks at the shelter advocated hard for me because they have seen that I was such a great boy that would be someone's best buddy and companion!

I didn't really like the kennel at first, but with some time and patience from my foster peeps, I am learning that it's really a nice little spot for me to go hang out and get some zzzz's. I do best if I am kenneled next to a dog friend. That seems to make me worry less and feel safer. After all I was a stray so I sometimes worry that maybe no one is coming back. I also will need a heavy duty kennel if you plan to keep me in one, I do best in these.

I have been doing wonderful at potty training, too. I will let you know that I have to go by starting to get antsy and sniff around. I have only had 2 accidents in my foster home, and I was told that was the human’s fault not mine hehe. I love to be outdoors and enjoy the air and all the smells. I like to play and run zoomies. I am very adventurous and not afraid of anything!! I am one brave boy that wants to see and learn it all!! I really need a fenced in yard, since I enjoy being outside and may adventure outside of where I should be.

The rescue thinks that I am Boxer and Dane mix. I have a Boxer face… so cute, I know… but the body of a Dane. I mean that's one great mix of breeds right there if I do say so myself. I am lanky, tall and ooohh so handsome!! I mean, how could you resist that face and snaggletooth LOL. Apply to meet me today, and I promise you will have a new bestie to enjoy life with!!
