Hello!! My name is Malachi and I am a 6 month old Snugglebug. I've been told by my foster Mama that I am very goofy and very handsome and have the most gorgeous, expressive eyes, with built in eyeliner that any gal would die for. Don't let my initial shy demeanor fool you---it doesn't last long. I warm up to people very quickly and before you know it I'm playing with you and giving you my adorable hugs and sloppy kisses. My day is spent getting to know the other dogs in my foster home, racing up and down the stairs (I'm so proud that I've learned how to navigate them), and playing with, chewing on and tugging on all of my toys.
My foster Mama is still helping me to be comfortable with walking on a leash but I've made a lot of improvements. I'm very smart and perceptive and notice everything that goes on around me and sometimes I need to be reminded that it's fun to explore outside and things like the UPS truck going by are not going to harm me. I also need to be reminded of my manners, as I am a little mouthy, as most 6 month old pups are----it's taking me a bit to learn what the word "no" means when it comes to my playful mouthiness but I'm getting better and better each day at remembering to be a gentleman.
Malachi needs a family with the patience to continue to work with him to help him become the secure, well-adjusted dog he was meant to be. He would benefit from having a large fenced-in yard to burn off some of his energy----he is quite the active pup! It would also be helpful for him to have another dog to keep him company and show him how to be the best dog he can be. He gets along with the dogs in his foster home and has never shown aggression towards them but they are small, senior dogs who have not been interested in playing with him like he would like to----I can definitely envision him racing around a huge yard with a doggie best friend and living the fabulous life he so deserves. He is working on house training but seems to know to use the puppy pads in the house, when he does have to go. He does great in his crate—-he had some accidents initially but hasn't had any for quite some time. When I get home from work, he is quiet as a mouse and waits patiently until I am able to take him outside. He is also extremely well behaved on car rides and will spend his time just observing everything going on around him.
Any family who adopts Malachi will be very lucky to have him join their pack!
