Meet Lovey!

Hi, I’m Lovey, although my foster mom sometimes calls me CraCra because I’m a little goofy and keep her laughing!

I’m a beautiful young tripod girl who has overcome a heartbreaking past. I came from Texas after suffering a broken hind leg in an abusive situation. My leg couldn’t be saved, but I sure didn’t let that stop me! I’m healing, thriving, and ready for the forever home I’ve always deserved.

I may only have three legs, but don’t let that fool you — I’m fast, playful, and strong, with occasional happy zoomies! I’m learning all about being a dog and discovering how much fun toys, bones, walks, and snuggles can be.

I’m housebroken, crate trained, trustworthy in the home, and great in the car. I’m intelligent, food motivated, eager to please, and working hard on my leash manners and basic training. Evening walks help me settle in for a cozy night.

I absolutely love my people and want to be wherever you are. I’m affectionate, enjoy kisses and cuddles, and once I trust you, I’ll happily be your devoted shadow. I can be shy and cautious at first, so I need a patient person who will give me time to feel safe and build confidence.

Because of my past, I need slow introductions with other dogs. I may be happiest as your one-and-only, although a calm, compatible dog may be possible with proper introductions. No cats, please — I have a high prey drive. I haven’t been around children yet, so a home without kids is recommended while we continue learning about me.

I’m also working on getting to a healthier weight, and thankfully, I’m VERY motivated by treats!

I’ve been through a lot, but I’m ready for my best chapter yet. I’m looking for my unicorn person — someone kind, patient, and committed to showing me that forever really does mean forever. A whole lot of personality. And a heart ready to belong to YOU.
