Lefty is a sweet and playful pal that has a lot of love to give and really wants to share it with his forever family. He does well with kids and other dogs. No exposure to cats yet.

Lefty is blissfully unaware that he’s had a rough start to life. He arrived unexpectedly from Texas with a litter of unrelated puppies and is believed to be about 6 months old.

He is great in his crate – keeps it clean and does not bark. He knows to pee & poop outside but, like most puppies, benefits from someone paying attention to his schedule, taking him out frequently and reinforcing the good behavior. We’ve been working on getting him to tell us when he needs to go outside.

Lefty is very smart and treat-motivated so he’s a quick learner. He knows “sit”, “down” , “stay”, “come” and “kennel” and is so eager to please with those tricks that he does them repeatedly without any prompting. He is good on a leash as he does not pull much and he’s generally good at walking alongside his person.

Favorite past times: He loves to fetch but is inconsistent in bring the toy or ball back immediately. He LOVES to hang out and cuddle with humans while they watch TV or read.

No one has a bigger heart to share with his people than Lefty!
