Meet Mr. Largo!! If you are looking for a sweet, loyal, gentleman of a dog, then Largo is your guy! He’s so sweet he even wears his heart on his nose to prove it.
Largo came to Unbreakabull by way of PUPS in Maple Grove. Due to growing anxiety in the kennel environment, he was at risk for euthanasia. Unbreakabull couldn’t let that happen so we stepped right up and got him into a loving foster home to decompress!! Largo can be a little unsure at first when meeting new people, but he quickly warms up to everyone. He's just a massive lover!! At home, Largo has energy immediately coming out of his crate – he bounds and leaps through the house, and it's so darn cute!! He is really not interested in jumping on you, just up as high and far as he can. As for other animals, Largo is indifferent to the senior cat in his foster home, so would likely do well with dog savvy cats.
Through DNA testing, we’ve discovered that Largo is 100% American Pit Bull Terrier! His adopters will be given access to that information.
Largo loves; hopping like a bunny, doing zoomies, unpacking the whole toy bin every chance he gets, sniffing fresh herbs, eating blueberries, napping on a cozy chair, playing fetch, chewing on butcher bones, watching TV, and making new friends.
Largo has shown some barrier reactivity through fences to neighbor dogs if they are aggressive with him first. This should be watched, but he hasn’t done anything that would make it a huge issue. He feeds into their aggression through a fence if they are growling at him or barking loudly. His normal reaction is to bark back and run back and forth as fast as possible. I can seem like he is upset, but if you grab his collar he will stop immediatly and walk back to the house. This is something to make you aware, not a huge issue. Letting him out while other aggressive dogs are on the other side of the fence not recommended. Otherwise he is indifferent to other dogs he sees on walks or in the house or playing outside.
He does excellent in his kennel, knows sit, down, shake, watch me, wait for his food, and go potty which he only does outside. He’s getting really good at go to bed, leave it, and back. He’s also learning how to adjust his play style to not overwhelm other dogs. Right now he is overly excited with other pups so he would likely need multiple meetings to determine if another dog wants to be his friend. He’s met a few other pups, some humans, 2 kids-one in a loud motorized play tractor, and people riding by on bikes. He’s had no reaction to anything loud or fast, including fireworks! He has really nice leash manners that he wants to keep practicing. He does great in the car and is just happy about life.
He has been tested outside of his kennel for extended periods and has done great. When watched through a camera, he pretty much keeps himself busy or walks around and waits by the door. He hasn’t tried to get into anything he shouldn’t, and he has never had an accident in the house. He does have a love for dryer sheets and small cloth items, so it is best to keep those out of his reach because he will tear them up. Otherwise he is fine with blankets or pillows or anything of that manner.
He’s looking for his forever home and working on his leaping skills while he waits. His current best is a 9-foot-long jump into the living room for dinner! Largo is the perfect mix of chill and playful!! This sweet guy deserves a warm home with so much love and lots of time to chill and chew! Apply to meet this sweet boy today!!!
