Isa, short for Isadore, which means gift, and I am truly going to be a gift to the person(s) that bring me into their lives. I am 3 years old, and I am the most gentle and loving soul that you will ever meet. I am an angel, and I am learning that life in a home is good, and safe, and loving. I spent the last 10 months roaming the streets while people tried to bring me to safety, but I was so scared of everyone that I always ran. Finally, with some patience and planning, I was caught in a live trap and brought to safety. When I came to the rescue about a month ago, I was so scared, and I didn’t trust anyone or anything around me, but I was never aggressive, and I still am not, but I am still cautious about everything around me. I am learning that food is always going to be available to me and that toys are a new thing. I am potty and crate trained, and then only time I make a peep in my crate is when I have to go out and go potty. I have had very slow, yet minimal, interactions with a male dog in my foster home, and I have done good with them, but we are taking things very, very slow. I have not met any female dogs yet. I am slowly becoming affectionate and wagging my tail and realizing that humans are a safe and positive thing. I have come a long way in a short time, but I have a bit to go. My foster mom is able to take away food and toys without me become aggressive or fighting to keep them from her. I have the most gentle heart and want to snuggle all the time, but that is still something that is so new to me, so I am cautious and need to take things on my time, but then I settle in, and I don’t want to leave you. It is being recommended that I go to a home with older kids simply because I am still shy and learning so many things, that the activity and quick movements of smaller kids might be startling to me right now. All that I can say is that I am learning so much, and I will get there. I am an angel on earth, and I am just waiting for my perfect home, which I know is out there.
