Hooty traveled from Texas to find his forever home. He is a sweet and docile boy who has nothing but love to give to everyone and anyone who wants it. He absolutely loves to give hugs and kisses to people, dogs, cats, and any living creature. He can befriend a dog of any size; however, he would be best with med to large breeds. He can play a bit rough for small breeds but does well with a 11lb pomapoo with spunk. Hooty loves to play with his feline friends but understands not all cats want to play. Either way, he knows how to be respectful. Hooty has been brave through every new exposure and loves meeting new people and canine friends. He walks well on a leash and is none reactive. He’s an easy going dude who would be happy doing anything with his people. He has not encounter with children, but his foster parent presumes he would love them. The youngest he’s been exposed to is middle school age which he showered the child with love. He is teething and will bite when overly excited so he will need supervision around children. Hooty loves to play with toys, either with other people or himself. One of his favorite toys is a metal bowl. You know he’s having a great time when he becomes vocal while playing. He will play until nap time calls upon him. He prefers to nap near people or fur sibling since he is a cuddly creature. Hooty sometimes gets FOMO (fear of missing out) but eventually quiets down when he realizes he has not been forgotten. He sleeps like an angel in his kennel; however, if he has too much energy it takes him some time to whined down for the night. He does a good job at letting people know when he needs to use the bathroom and will start howling. His howls get louder and louder until it’s unbearable. Hooty consistently goes everytime he goes out. He still haven’t figured out the best way to tell his foster but does his best to not have accidents. He is young and has a few here and there. Hooty is a smart boy and knows some basic commands like sit, stay (5 sec max), off, and kennel. As smart as he is, he is also very clumsy and often falls on his back. He’s very food motivated and will do anything for food so training him will be doable. He wants to eat ALL the food and enjoys random veggies like carrots, broccoli and tomatos. He acts like he’s being starved and devours his food. Hooty is not reactive with food and does not show any agression when other dogs are around his food. Overall, Hooty would give a lot of love and laughter for very one lucky family. He’s ready to open his heart and hopes his family is ready to open theirs.
