Hey world!! My name is Fonzi, and I am about 7 months old. My adventure in getting to rescue was nothing short of crazy, but I’m here now, and I’m safe and that is all that matters. My story started with me being thrown from a car for some unknown reason and someone finding me. My original owner’s couldn’t be found, or didn’t want to be, so I was brought to rescue so that I could have the best chance at life and find my forever family that would love me. Now, with my questionable start comes a lot of things that I am working on and is going to take some patience and dedication if you would like to call me yours forever. I went to the vet after my ordeal and everything is fine physically with me. There were no injuries, and I am perfect there. My issues stem from having absolutely no obvious socialization with other dogs, so I have no skills when it comes to that. I am very in the face of other dogs, and I don’t understand any social cues from them that state that I am being annoying and to back off. I live with my foster fur sibling and to say that she tolerates me is an understatement. She is super chill, but she will let me know when I am getting to be to much, and I’m trying really hard to understand what she means by her tone and actions, but it’s slow coming. I am going to need someone who can help me learn these things as my human, but also if there is another dog in the home I am going to need to be watched closely to make sure there are no issues until I learn the rules of space and calming. It’s suspected that I was taken from my mom too early and that’s why I didn’t learn a lot of these skills before being placed in my first home, so now I have to start from the beginning. When it comes to my kennel I am a true gem! It seems like I might have spent a lot of time there, but who knows. I am working on all things puppy, and I am very much a puppy when it comes to jumping and chewing and working on going potty outside. I am doing well with redirection and getting there, but it’s going to take someone being diligent in keeping up with my training. Any slacking in that area, and I could end up being a nightmare of naughtiness. I have a human foster sibling and things are okay with her. I am watched because I am jumpy and such, but I’m not aggressive by any means. There are no cats here so I am not sure what I would do with one of those. Right now we are working on the basics of being a dog, so we haven’t been too concerned with cats. Above all of the stuff that I am working on is the most amazing heart, and I just want snuggles and love and pets. I want my forever family that can see the potential that I have and work to bring that out in me. Are you up for the challenge? Well if so, let’s meet and see if we are moving on to happier days!! Until then, I’m going to work really hard on everything that will make me the best boy possible. See you soon!! Love, Fonzi (UPDATED 05/07/21)
