Word from foster mom: Say hello to the sweetest, most lovable pup-pup named Declan O’Brien. Yes - I decided to declare him Irish.

Mister O’Brien was picked up as a stray. Not sure how long he was out there, but he has learned what it’s like to be a house dog and he has become such an affectionate dog. He is so very smart and treat motivated and that makes the perfect combination for training. Speaking of treats, I have never met a dog that takes treats a gentle a he does.

He loves being outside and providing me with moral support while I spend hours playing in the garden. He does great on car rides. He does great in a kennel once he settles into his new routine. The only challenge that we had was when I first got him, he would get very anxious when I would leave the house but it helps him when there is another dog near him. He sleeps in his kennel every night with no whining at all. He is dog and cat friendly. He currently lives with three other dogs (2 males and 1 female) and two cats. He would thrive having a canine companion - another dog that can teach him how to “dog”. He is best friends with an unBreakabull alum, Blockhead. They play and snuggle together every day. I’ve added a few photos of them together.

He has not been around little kids but best guess is that he would be great with them. Need to do some more work with him to get to stop him from jumping. He has greatly improved but sometimes after I am gone for a while and let him out of his kennel, he gets excited and jumps up to let me know how happy he is to see me.

He is potty trained. He is such a sweet soul and loves to snuggle. He would make for a perfect sleeping buddy. I don’t let him sleep with me but don’t worry - I have two other dogs that I let sleep on my bed. I kennel him at night because his future family may not want him in their bed.

His adopters will need to be patient with him. He can be shy so being patient and having a confident dog in the home is would be the perfect fit for him. He is such a sweet boy. He has such a sweet disposition and temperament. He loves his human with all his heart.

A now a few words from Declan: Haiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!!! Adopt me and I will be your bestest friend forever and ever. I love playing with toys and chewing on bones. I love playing with my foster brother Blockhead. Foster mom calls him a big giant dumb dumb but he puts up with my antics and we can play for a long time! And then we crash hard.
