HELLO COCO!
So, you’ve heard of CoCo Chanel right? Well, that’s not me, but I am just as wonderful as she was, and I guarantee you that I will leave a legacy!! I am 3.5 years old, and I have had quite the journey of love, tragedy, and triumph in just a short amount of time; sort of like my human idol, Ms. Chanel. I came to the shelter after being hit by a car. I ended up with a spinal injury that caused my whole back end to become paralyzed, and I had a lot of pelvic fractures. The shelter began putting out pleas for a rescue to take me and take on my care, or the only option left was to euthanize me because the shelter couldn’t afford my care. No other rescues were wanting to take my case on because it was so expensive, and I completely understood that. As the days were getting shorter, and no rescues were coming forward, I began to get very sad. Then, someone from the shelter came in and told me a rescue had said yes to saving my life and helping me get better! We were all so shocked, but so grateful. Unbreakabull had stepped up and was going to make sure that I got the care that I needed. They knew that there was going to be a huge cost involved, but they also knew the village of people that supported and loved the rescue, so there was complete joy and hope. The next few days were so busy with Dr.’s visits, tests, a lot of x-rays, and times spent in a funny scanner machine. I didn’t care about all of this because I got a lot of scratches and treats, so I did whatever they asked; I’m no fool. Once they decided what was all wrong, it was determined that I needed to have surgery, two in fact. The first one was to relieve the pressure from my spine so that the nerves would start getting sensations to want to walk again. Once that part was done, then I had to have another surgery to put some pins and plates in my pelvis so that I could walk. Then, I started physical therapy and guess what, I AM WALKING and doing GREAT!!!!! I had my final Dr’s appointment in Dec 2019, and I am fully recovered now and have been cleared by my surgeons to go and live my life how I want because everything has healed and looked amazing on my final set of x-rays!! I have had the chance to be around some dogs during my recovery, and I do great with larger male dogs, and I love to play! I do great with kids of all ages, but I do prefer to not have my food messed with when I’m eating, so it’s best that I get fed away from kids and other dogs. I know, such a diva! I do great while being in my crate, and I go potty outside! Diva’s don’t throw fits, and they always act like a lady. While I can be a diva and act like a lady, I am super goofy and playful, and I love to snuggle and just love on people. Just like my human idol Coco Chanel, I love being social with everyone, including the Vet, and I am loyal to those that I love and that love me back. Since being cleared by my doctor, I am ready to go, so while I am waiting for you to go and fill out the application to take me home, I’m going to slip into something a little fancier and get ready for the parties we are going to go to when you come and get me. See you soon!!! I’ll be the one wearing the fancy dress!! Love, Coco
