Chilli FKA Gala is a sweet, affectionate, and playful girl who thrives with structure and routine. Once she settles into a home, she loves being close to her people and is happiest cuddled up on the couch, following her family around the house, or relaxing in a sunny spot.
She is potty trained, kennel trained, and does well with a consistent daily routine. Chilli is eager to be part of the family and forms strong bonds with her people. Without a regular routine, she may occasionally have accidents in the home, so consistency will help set her up for success.
In the home, Chilli is playful and fun-loving. She enjoys wrestling and playing with our resident dog and is especially fond of nibbling at his back legs to convince him to play with her. She has done well living with another dog in the home and truly benefits from canine companionship. Having another dog around seems to help her feel more relaxed and confident, and she enjoys following a canine friend around and learning appropriate dog behaviors from them.
Chilli has also lived successfully with our five-year-old daughter and has been gentle with her. She currently lives with a cat as well. While she sometimes tries to engage the cat in play and can be a little enthusiastic, she has coexisted well in a home with a feline companion.
Chilli is an intelligent dog who enjoys attention, affection, and being involved in family life. She loves to chew and especially enjoys stuffed toys and plush animals. One thing to note is that Chilli previously had a broken tooth extracted, and her veterinarian suspected it may have been caused by chewing on hard toys or bones. Because of this, it is recommended that she avoid hard chew toys and bones in the future.
Chilli would do best with adopters who appreciate her loving personality and can provide the structure and consistency that help her feel secure.
