Buddy is a little firecracker—in all the best ways! Full of spunk, charm, and personality, he’s come a long way from the shy, timid pup who first arrived from Texas. Now, he’s playful, quirky, and full of joyful energy—but he also knows when to turn it down.

Buddy is a pro at reading the room! He adjusts his behavior to match the energy around him, whether it’s wrestling with playful pups or giving space to older dogs and chill cats. Buddy absolutely adores playing with dogs, and his zoomies are a daily delight. He’s also polite with older, more reserved dogs, never pushing for play. Because of this, Buddy would thrive in a home with another dog to help guide him—or with an active person who’s ready to include him in their adventures.

In his foster home, Buddy lives with four cats and handles himself like a gentleman. He steers clear of the one who wants space, ignores the indifferent ones, and happily plays with the cat who enjoys his company. He’s shown no prey drive or aggression—just a thoughtful, easygoing attitude. He’s still learning that not everything is a toy or a treat, but he redirects easily and is picking up on basic commands. He’s also learning the art of cuddling—when he first experienced a bed, he rolled and hopped around like it was the best thing ever.

Food and treats are the way to Buddy’s heart, which makes training a breeze. He happily goes into his kennel for meals or treats and sleeps through the night without a peep. He prefers his kennel to be near people or other dogs and finds comfort in the company of others. His skin was in rough condition, but it is healing nicely, and little hairs are starting to grow back—just another sign of how far this sweet guy has come.
