Bella is an adorable, sweet, petite mix who was found as a stray and is a very typical older puppy. Bella doesn’t let her humble beginnings stop her from enjoying the world, be it people, other dogs or nature. Her nemesis? Those pesky squirrels!
Bella is super smart and would thrive in a variety of environments but as a young dog she does need the opportunity to get her wiggles out. She goes in her crate well, and stays in there nicely if covered, otherwise she has some FOMO (fear of missing out). If she hears you while in the covered kennel, she might let out some whines, but settles down quickly.
She’s potty-trained while out around the house, and only has had a rare accident during a longer overnight stretch in the kennel. Bella is smart, eager to learn and easy to train! She loves playing with balls, so maybe even some fly ball or agility could be in her future? With her smarts, food motivation, and willingness to please, she could go far with obedience.
Bella loves people and giving kisses. She doesn’t currently live with kids, but with her sweet personality would probably do well with older kids. Bella could be fine as a solo dog but also would do well with a playmate. She plays with a variety of toys and can entertain herself, but she does like to be around people. She’s not much of a barker; if someone walks by on the street, even with a dog, she just watches or ignores. In her kennel, she ignores the doorbell or the resident dog barking.
As a typical (older) puppy, Bella is still learning things like manners. Sometimes it’s hard to contain those wiggles that will settle down with time and training! Jumping up, exploring with her mouth, and pulling on the leash are some typical puppy behaviors she needs to work on. Cats are really fun to chase and play with, even when they don’t want to. As such, she would do best with VERY dog-savvy cats with the knowledge she needs to learn to leave them alone.
